Intranet FAQ

1. How are Bizzbug social spaces used on intranets and extranets? A social space is a highly flexible permissions-controlled area, which is created and accessed through a Web browser and served by a Bizzbug portal (run on your servers, or ours). Social spaces can be setup and used for a wide variety of purposes. For example, coordinating a business project and storing associated information, interacting with a customer or supplier, organizing internal document flow, or just organizing an event and sharing the pictures afterwards. Social spaces can be linked together to create flows, and shared amongst just a few people or many thousands.

The Bizzbug system also compliments social spaces with other powerful intranet and extranet functionality.

2. What features can a social space contain? Each social space is a self-contained area to which you can add powerful social tools and content systems, often just with a few clicks on the mouse. Things you can add to a social space include document folders, picture albums, event calendars, blogs, user forums, profiles and WYSIWYG self-authored Web pages where you can combine content, special widgets and feeds from other social spaces, your intranet and the web.

3. What other intranet functionality is there? Bizzbug provides you with the Web's best contact management system, which is based upon tags and relationships. This makes it easier for users to manage their network within your organization, and to connect with external partners, suppliers and customers. Corporate communications are made more efficient and effective.

4. How is access and sharing controlled? Only people you give accounts to can login to your white label intranet and/or extranet system. Each user has their own personal social space, and may create or join standalone social spaces, which operate in 3 membership modes: open (anyone can join), approval required (applications must be approved) and private (invitation only). You can control the sharing permissions on each individual feature inside a space with virtually limitless flexibility, but by default the features inside spaces are mainly restricted to members.

5. What is the difference between using www.Bizzbug.com and a white label system? The www.bizzbug.com site offers a public service, and you have to control access to your social spaces on a per-space basis. If you only expect light usage, you can simply create private spaces and restrict them to employees and associates. However, in this case your employee’s user accounts will mingle with other users of the system, and you may want things to be more private. An alternative is to create a Bizzbug corporate white label version especially for your intranet or extranet. In this case, you get a private version of the bizzbug site branded accordingly that only you can sign people up to (where typically the user accounts are initialized from an HR database). This allows for greater customization, and also for greater freedom and flexibility since only your own people will have the ability to browse and apply to join spaces. Furthermore, the directories of users and spaces are beneficial for internal company networking and information dissemination, and special features are present in the white label version to help you leverage these possibilities.

6. How much does it cost, and how do I get it? Extended FREE trials and setup assistance are currently available for those interested in Bizzbug White Label services. Please use the feedback form at the top of this page to request further information if required.

Corporate white label pricing can be as low as 1 British pound or 1.5 euros/dollars per user per month for a fully hosted turnkey solution.

Alternatively, if your organization would be a light user of the intranet facilities, please consider trying the FREE www.bizzbug.com public service.
